This was our project for the cardiff RHS flower show, throughout looking at different artists and styles, i decided i wanted to come up with a painting that was more of a general impression than a detailed image, Monet was the main inspiration as this is often what he did. However i am not realy very happy with my final image, its too bright and childlike, i chose these colours because i thought it would emulate a festival atmosphere that they said they wanted but looking back i think i should have chosen better colours and given myself more time.

My project on 'the Oddssey' we had to pick or make up a story to illustrate. I chose this as I love drawing mythical creatures and places, this was one of my favorite projects so far

Animal Alphabet project

These are some images from my sketchbook from our animal alphabet project. We visited Bristol zoo and took pictures for inspiration. I was given the letter 't' to design using an animal beginning with t. I love drawing insects as they are often so colorful, but here i have just used black and white to concentrate on the interesting shapes. I love Celtic lettering so decide to try and incorporate this theme into the letter too.

 Here I have shown excerpts from my sketchbook that included my research that led me to designing and making my own hat.  My original investigation looked into different forms of design, architecture, graphic design and product design.

People and Places - photographs

As part of a project investigating 'People and Places' I wanted to look at people where I live in Wales.  I took these photographs in Cardiff to illustrate the myriad of people who live and work in a large city.  Some of the photographs, especially those taken where the individuals are not looking into the camera remind of the artwork of Edward Hopper, his painting were almost voyeuristic, depicting people during everyday life, observing them at a distance.
